Dr. Antoinette Miranda brings over 35 years of experience in education to her candidacy for the Columbus City Schools Board of Education. As a professor and Director of the School Psychology Program at The Ohio State University, she has dedicated her career to understanding how children learn and developing effective interventions for at-risk students in urban settings.

Dr. Miranda’s connection to Columbus City Schools runs deep. She is the proud parent of two CCS graduates and is married to CCS educator Jim Miranda, who teaches at Eastmoor High School. This personal connection gives her a unique perspective on the challenges and opportunities within our district.

Distinguished Experience & Leadership
Before joining Ohio State University, Dr. Miranda worked as a school psychologist in New York, Ohio, and Kentucky, giving her firsthand experience with the day-to-day realities of public education. Her leadership extends beyond the classroom—she served two terms on the Ohio State Board of Education (2017-2025), where she advocated for policies that support the whole child.
